MARKET VIEW
The Indian stock market woes doesn’t seem to come to end in the near future. In the next week we might see the sensex shedding some more points. The Federal meet in U.S. on 18TH march is being eagerly awaited in the markets. If the Fed. Lowers the interest rate by more than 50 basis pts. then it may provide an impetus for an rally. Anything equal to 50 basis pts. or lower than 50 basis pts. might give a negative impact on the stock market.
In the last week of march we might see buying in selective scrips in anticipation of good jan. – mar. quarter results. Some of the scrips to watch out for are Rohit Ferro, Spice mobile, Ritesh prop. Ltd., Alps Ind., Godawari Power and Ispat, Compact Disc and Indotech Transformers.
HEALTH TIP - Always prefer to eat fishes which are smaller in size like sardines, mackerel, salmon, etc. as they contain more of omega3 fatty acids than those when compared to bigger fishes . Omega3 fatty acids are helpful in reducing low density lipids (bad cholesterol), which is harmful to our body.

Multibagger - Godawari Power and Ispat
This is one of the fundamentally sound and well diversified company in steel Industry. It is the flagship company of the Raipur based, Hira group of Industries located in Chattisgarh and was incorporated in sep 1999. Initially it produced only sponge Iron , but then over a period of time it diversified into value added products like billets, HB wires and captive power plant run on waste gases emanated from its own kilns. It commenced with an annual production of 105000 tpa of sponge Iron and since then has increased its capacity five fold to become one of the largest producer of sponge Iron in India. Billet and HB wires are produced through its wholly owned subsidiaries. The company has tied up with Chhattisgarh Govt. for access to coal and Iron ore mines. The Chhattisgarh Govt. has given permission for mining, but clearance from Forest dept. is still pending. In sep 2007 the company had commissioned its expansion projects in which sponge Iron & steel billets capacity was raised by 60 – 100 % to 495000 tpa and 400000 tpa respectively. The captive power plant capacity has been raised from 28mw to 53mw. Mining reserves include 15 mill.ton. of Iron ore and 63 mill.ton. of non-coking coal. The benefits of expansion will be fully reflected in the coming quarter results. The news of Forest dept. giving clearance for mining might give a fillip to the market price of the company. Buy now at declines below 180 for decent gains, expected price within one year is 400.
Risk factors include the company prospects solely depend on steel demand. Non clearance for mining from the Forest dept. might depress the prices.

MULTIBAGGER - ALPS INDUSTRIES
The company is a leading manufacturer of home furnishing , fashion accessories and architectural products. It markets its products under the brand name Vista. The company had come out with an Public Issue in Oct 2005 . Further in March 2006 the company had issued GDR for its expansion plans. The company has formed a wholly owned subsidiary in U.S.A. in April 2007 for exploring export opportunities. The coming months are very bright for the company . First of all the expansion project of around 400 cr has been fully commissioned in Dec 2007. The quarter ending March 2008 results will fully reflect the benefits of expansion. The Yarn spinning capacity has been increased to 155 tpd from the present 97 tpd. The new yarn spinning unit has 66000 spindles. Weaving capacity has been increased to 27 mill.Sq.mt. the present 19 mill.Sq.mt. The company has recently announced on 4 Jan 2008 it is foraying into Energy sector, through a wholly owned subsidiary which may listed later this year. It is setting up two hydro power projects of capacity 150 mw each. Foraying into Energy sector will give better valuations on the bourses. The company had issued bonus shares in the ratio 1:1 in Sep 2006. For quarter ending March 2008 the company will show more than 100% growth in sales and profit as compared to March 2007 quarter results. Buy now at declines around 45 for decent gains before it catches the fancy of big Investors. The P.E. of the company is the lowest when compared to others in its sector. Downside potential is very limited. Expected price within one year is 120.
Risk factors include low valuations given to textile industry. It will take some time for the Power projects to add to revenues.
MARKET VIEW
As stated yesterday the market staged a recovery late in the afternoon. This was bound to happen as some sort of correction to the downslide was due. The market may move sideways for some sessions or may gain up a bit. Perhaps after that the market will enter a bearish phase depending upon global cues.

CRICKET- What a finish to a long Australian tour. Everything in favour of the Indians. Perhaps the only accolade missing the Indians was the man of the series going to an Australian, Nathan Bracken. Could you expect a better climax to Bhajji-Symonds and Bhajji-Hayden controversial episodes, with Bhajji getting both of them out in both the finals. Both of Sachin’s innings were reminiscent of the twin innings he had played in Sharjah, and that too against the Aussies. The BCCI seems to have gone overboard with the win in handing out 10 cr for the team. It would be better if the BCCI distributes some of its profits to other sports and sport persons on achieving victories in similar events.

market view
As expected the market is further continuing its downslide and global factors are not encouraging either. If the market sheds another 500 pts in the morning session then one can invest in moderation, as we might see a recovery in the late afternoon session.

MARKET VIEW
As discussed in my earlier articles the market is entering a bearish phase. Perhaps may slip further to 15000 levels. Then considering the global cues it would be the right time to invest in the market. For the time being it is better to stay away from the market.

It looks like another week of selloff in the market. There are several factors which will facilitate the selloff. First of all the global cues are not very encouraging. Secondly the budget was way below the market expectations. The most negative factor in the budget was the increase in short term capital gains due to which liquidity might be drained out from the market.
